Black Friday in Poland: how to use it without falling into a spiral

Black Friday and Cyber Monday in Poland pull the best and the worst out of the Polish consumer in a single weekend. Used well, they save real money on a purchase you were going to make anyway. Used badly, they leave you with 24 instalments on something you no longer remember buying.

Black Friday 2026 dates

27 November: Black Friday. 30 November: Cyber Monday. Most large stores start the promos on the Wednesday before Black Friday, and post-season sales run until 7 December. Miss Friday — the promo will almost always still be there.

BNPL Allegro Pay, PayPo, Klarna: the rule they rarely state

BNPL looks like a „free" deferred purchase. It is, as long as you pay in full and on time. Be one day late and they charge a fee of 19–35 PLN plus start counting interest retroactively. The question to ask yourself before clicking „buy now, pay in 30 days": would I buy this for cash today? If not, don't buy it on BNPL.

Credit cards: which ones give real cashback on Black Friday

ING (5% cashback in selected categories for 60 days for new customers), mBank Mastercard Worki bumps cashback up for the BF window, Santander Premium offers higher percentage returns. Useful only if you already have the card before BF. Applying on Friday is too late.

When a cash loan beats BNPL

On large purchases (above 5 000 PLN) at stores that don't offer BNPL on good terms, a cash loan at 12% RRSO is usually cheaper than BNPL instalments at 22% RRSO. Always look at total cost, not the monthly payment alone.

Mistakes that make the January bill painful

Buying on 18 or 24 instalments something you'd have bought anyway, locking yourself to two years on a device that loses value in six months. Applying for several cards in one week — every application is an enquiry in BIK. Mistaking „–50%" off an inflated catalogue price for a real discount. And the classic: forgetting the card limit and getting hit at the close of the cycle.
