Cash loans in Katowice and the Upper Silesian Industrial District

Upper Silesia has the most concentrated industrial employment base in Poland: mining (JSW), energy (Tauron, PGE), automotive (Stellantis Tychy and Gliwice, Toyota Wałbrzych — although Wałbrzych today sits closer to Wrocław). The banks know it and run programmes.

JSW and Tauron — the most stable profiles the banks see

A JSW miner with 10 years on the books, or a Tauron employee on a regular contract, is a gem for a bank. Pekao and PKO BP have deals with the largest employers in the region — the RRSO often starts at 9–10% on the programme. mBank lands here less often. ING fights for the IT client out of Katowice Business Center.

Stellantis Tychy and Gliwice — the Fiat and Opel plants

Staff at Stellantis Polska (formerly Fiat Auto Poland) have a programme with BNP Paribas Bank Polska (formerly BGŻ). Cash loans under the dedicated employer programme sit at an RRSO of 10–11%. Check with HR — the programme isn't always active for every employee at the same time.

Retail and services jobs in Katowice

Silesia City Center, Galeria Katowicka — a large base of retail and hospitality staff on precarious contracts. A bank usually drops out here. Smartney and Hapi Pożyczki are a real option after 6 months of work.

Average amount applied for from Silesia

From 22 000 to 78 000 PLN, term 24–48 months. Typical purposes: consolidation, a car, a renovation. A down payment on a flat comes up less often — Silesia still has lower flat prices than Warsaw, Kraków or Wrocław.
